Lecanto Middle School is an outstanding choice for families because we combine high expectations with strong relationships and meaningful opportunities for students. Our Panthers are encouraged to explore their interests, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and prepare for success in high school and beyond.
What makes LMS special is our strong sense of school family. We are supported by active families, an incredible community, a strong School Advisory Council, and a dedicated PTO. Parent Nights, award programs, chorus and band concerts, and school events are well attended, showing the pride and support that make Panther Nation so special. What We Offer
LMS offers students many opportunities to learn, lead, create, compete, and serve through strong academics, electives, athletics, fine arts, clubs, and school-wide initiatives.
Our offerings include:
Gifted Program: Provides challenge, enrichment, creativity, and academic growth.-
AVID: Advancement Via Individual Determination builds organization, study skills, leadership, and college/career readiness while connecting closely with the AVID program at Lecanto High School.

Speech and Debate: Offered as both a school-day elective and competitive team, helping students grow in public speaking, research, critical thinking, confidence, and leadership.

HOSA – Future Health Professionals: Gives students opportunities to explore health science, service, leadership, teamwork, and future careers in health care.

Fine Arts: Including band, chorus, visual arts, performances, and creative opportunities.

Athletics and Extracurricular Activities: Including school sports, yearbook, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Junior Honor Society, PBIS celebrations, field trips, and other opportunities for student involvement.

Leadership and Service Opportunities: Through NJHS, HOSA, Speech and Debate, AVID, SAC/PTO-supported initiatives, and school-wide programs.

Welcome to Lecanto Middle School, home of the Panthers! At LMS, we believe every student’s success is Mission Possible. We are proud to serve students in grades 6–8 in a school community built on Panther Pride, strong relationships, academic growth, student involvement, family engagement, and a shared commitment to helping every child feel connected, supported, and challenged.
LMS is also part of a unique and closely connected Panther campus. Through our close proximity and collaboration with Lecanto Primary School and Lecanto High School, we help create a true sense of continuity, connection, and family throughout Panther Nation.
